All students at The University of Auckland are given a University email account. The University uses your @aucklanduni.ac.nz email address for all official email communications.
To access your University Email account go to Quicklinks on the University front page www.auckland.ac.nz and click on Student email.
The following is very important for part-time students who mainly use another email.
To redirect/forward your Student email account to your regular email account (eg, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo), follow the steps below:
- Sign into your Student email account as above or at: http://webmail.ec.auckland.ac.nz
- Click Settings at the top of your student email page
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
- Select Forward a copy of incoming mail and add the email address you would like your messages to be forwarded to
- A verification email will be sent to your forwarding email address, open up the verification email and click the confirmation link
- Return to your Student email account settings, then to Forwarding and POP/IMAP, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to, select the verified email address
- Click Save Changes
This function will not work until the forwarding email address is verified.
The University of Auckland cannot set up the redirection from your new Student email account for you and will continue to use your @aucklanduni.ac.nz email address for all official email communications which will be automatically forwarded to the email address you entered.
