General comments

The colour scheme is simple, consistent and reflects the subject matter of the poster. The choice of the colour brown reflects both eye colour and the colour of coffee. The left to right, vertical layout and boxes make the poster easy to navigate. The text is large and easy to read. Even though the poster has been reduced to fit on the screen it is still legible.

Title

The main title is short and to the point. It quickly catches your attention and cleverly incorporates the subject of the poster: coffee and eyes.

Subtitle

The subtitle gives you more specific information and tells you the conclusions upfront. Someone scanning a room full of posters will quickly be able to work out what this poster is about.

Research question

Including the research question helps the reader get a sense of the focus and purpose of the research. Colouring the research question orange makes it stand out and easy to find.

Introduction

Enough background is given to help the audience understand the context of the research. The language is clear and free from jargon.

Concepts that may be unfamiliar to a general audience, such as 'brain fatigue' are explained. The relationship between brain-fatiguing exercise and eye movements is introduced.

Charlotte has stated the problems associated with brain-fatiguing exercise and eye movement and her approach to solving this problem using caffeine. Finally, she has included her research question: Can caffeine be used to combat brain fatigue and prevent slow eye movements?.

Methods diagram

Including a diagram in the methods section helps the reader understand the process of how the data were collected.

Methods

The methods are summarised into three parts which correspond to the three symbols used in the diagram. The methods are concise and do not go into unnecessary detail.

Graphic

This is a great graphic. At first it appears to be an eye, but on closer inspection the iris is actually a cup of coffee.

Results

The results are presented in a big, bold graph that is easy to comprehend. The colour scheme of the graph is consistent with other colours used in the poster.

Discussion

The significance of the results is clearly stated "This study is the first to show...." and the problem of slow eye movement is reiterated. The author demonstrates how the research is applicable to the real world and emphasises important points by using bold text.
