However, as we know, writing can be a difficult skill to learn and get good at; it requires time, effort and practice. As a result, it may be worthwhile to develop your writing while you're at uni.

Through their 2015 Employability Skills Survey of 346 organisations, the Careers and Employment Service at Victoria University of Wellington identified the top ten skills and attributes these employers look for in new graduates. *Verbal and Written Communication Skills* ranked 2^nd and 8^th on the list respectively.

	Expected levels of competency When asked about their expectations regarding graduates’ levels of competency in these ten skills, employers indicated they "seek graduates who can communicate well in writing, importantly those who can produce good quality written work and proof/edit it themselves." (p.19)
