Teaching large classes

Teaching a large class has some unique challenges. The following information discusses these and offers some approaches that can be taken to engage the audience.

In this resource we categorise class sizes as anything less than 50 is small, 50-100 is medium and a large class is anything over 100 students. Large classes may be taught using simulcast, or students could be streamed, where the lecture is repeated for the subsequent stream(s) at a later time.

There are three areas to consider: Preparing the lecture, presenting the lecture and reflecting on the lecture.
