Some pitfalls

Make sure your activities are suitable for the class size. Consider making lecture materials available on Canvas beforehand. Let your students know to look for them either through a Canvas notification or at the end of the previous lecture.

Don't deliver too much information in the time available, split it over several lectures. Limit the number of slides you use in any one session. Include the most relevant or important points in the lecture and provide more to be downloaded later.

Don't rely on just your PowerPoint. Make things more interesting by visiting a web site, demonstrating a concept and asking your students to tackle a problem, have a discussion or complete a short quiz.

Acoustics need more care in a large theatre. Can the students at the back hear you? Even an experienced and imposing lecturer is likely to need to use the electern or lapel microphone to project to the back of the theatre.

The same applies to visuals. Make sure your PowerPoint slides are easily read from anywhere in the theatre. One top lecturer only uses PowerPoint for images. The text that might have been placed in PowerPoint is downloaded by students from Canvas and has room for note-taking.
