Summary

Preeclampsia is a common condition in pregnancy particularly in first pregnancies. Screening for risk of preeclampsia and the development of preeclampsia is a major part of routine antenatal care. Preventative therapy should be used when appropriate and very close monitoring of mother and fetus should be instigated for all women who develop signs and symptoms of the disease.
