Use course and lecture learning outcomes to help focus your attention on the important and relevant information. More information about learning outcomes from the University of Toronto.

Over the semester you should have produced a set of comprehensive notes from your lectures and tutorials. Further condense these notes into study notes when you prepare for exams eg, bullet point notes or mind-maps. The more you study and remember, the further your notes will be reduced. By exam time you will have a series of keywords, which should trigger the memory of your study notes.
