Free photo software

There's lots free downloadable software for manipulating photos on the web. 

We have provided a step-by-step printable guide to cropping, resizing, compressing and saving for the free online tool Pixlr.  Its tools look similar to those in photoshop.

BEWARE using the back button before saving.  Because you are working online, you will lose any changes. Pixlr may not work in all browsers.  When last tested, it worked in Firefox and Chrome but had compatibility issues with Internet Explorer.
