Digitool Collections (Library)
The library's Digitool's collections houses some collections available for general use and others only available for specific departments.
History of the University of Auckland Photographs of Staff and Students and from the archive of the Audio Visual Centre (currently CAD) Photography unit.
Anthropology Photographic Archive Ethnographical and archaeological photographs from New Zealand, New Guinea, the Tokelau Islands and Samoa from the Department of Anthropology Photographic Archive. Includes a major sub-collection of photographs of Lapita pottery.
Britannica Image Quest (purchased library database)
Search on the library catalogue for "Britannica Image Quest". Click the "View online" tab, then "open source in a new window" It allows you to download a wide range of photos and to export the required accreditation.
Note: These images are available for educational purposes. Using the images for marketing, eg the University prospectus or similar, could be considered commercial use by the vendor.
Does not use unisign. Be sure to use a password you can remember!
Cheap and easy repositories
Some departments and faculties use repositories of photos like istock.com and 123RF.com, which make it easy for you to purchase inexpensive images by enabling you to buy credits. You can use these when you want to purchase one of their images.
