In the course of a typical working day we are often asked to meet and collaborate with others. Our colleagues might be in the same room, the next building, or another city or country entirely. The following course looks at a selection of apps and tools which are designed to make organising and remote collaborating with others, easier.
This course covers a sampling of apps and tools that you may find useful when organising events or collaborating with others.
What are we covering?
Google Drive - a file storage and collaborative working space hosted by Google. This app allows collaborative editing, cloud storage and file sharing.
Microsoft Lync - an in-house instant messaging service linked to your Outlook folder.
Doodle Poll - free online scheduling software.
EventBrite - a website that allows you to organise, promote, set up registrations/ticket sales for an event.
The University of Auckland Libraries and Learning Services Mobile Library app - an app that allows you to perform basic library functions as well as access your account via your smartphone.
Tricider - free online app for brainstorming, voting and decision making.
Refworks Mobile - a "lite" version of RefWorks for mobile devices.
Library app - University of Auckland Library app for mobile devices.
