Shared Area

What is it?

  • A central location where you can share a list of references with anyone at the University of Auckland who has a RefWorks account.

Use when:

  • You want multiple people from the University of Auckland to be able to access a list of your references, without actually logging into your account.

Good for:

  • Academic staff wanting to share a list of references with their students.
  • Researchers working independently on similiar projects.

Be aware that...

  • Users need a Refworks account to view the references.
  • Lists should be removed once you have finished with them so they don't clutter up the Shared area.

Have a go

Activity 1: View the University of Auckland Shared Area

Log in to your RefWorks account.

  • Click on View
  • Select View Shared Area

  • Scroll down and click on any list to view references.

Activity 2: Create and Save a List to the Shared Area.

Log in to your RefWorks account with the log details provided by your presenter.

  • Click on Organize and Share Folders.

 

 

 

  • Click on the small icon with a folder and an arrow to the right of the Integrity at Work folder

  • Click on Share.
  • Give the list a title.
  • Click on Share options and place a tick in the Reference Sharing box.

  • Click Save.

Your list will be available for all to view in the Shared area.


Activity 3: Remove your Share

To remove a share:

  • In your RefWorks account click on the Organize and Share folders tab.

 

  • Click on the icon to the right of the Integrity at Work shared folder.

  • Click on Remove Share.

 

  • Click on Remove Share again.

  • Click on View
  • Select Shared area
  • Click on View Shared area
