Word definitions from Wikipedia
Word definitions
You can find the Wikipedia definition of any word on your CourseBuilder site. Make sure the following option is ticked in your Course Preferences
Highlight any word on your site, e.g. Auckland and you will see a question mark icon appear next to the word.
Click on the icon to open the Wikipedia definition in a new window.
Have a Go
- Highlight words in the following sentence: The kiwi bird is only found in New Zealand.
- Go to your Sandbox tab page
- Add a text block element as a nested element, write a sentence of your own choice
- Click on Save (* if you don't click on save the feature does not work)
- Highlight the words. Click on the question mark icon to open up the relevant Wikipedia page.
If you do not see a question mark when you highlight a word, then go to Course Preferences >> Advanced options >> Allow select word information window, and tick the box and click Save.
