Begin by finding our starting paper in Medline (Ovid), eg by searching for the title. When you've found it, click on the Complete Reference link on the right-hand side of the screen. The Medline record should look something like this:

Hyperlinked terms:

• Authors - Clicking on any of these will produce a list of all the records in the Medline database written by that author.
• MeSH subject headings - Clicking on any of these will produce a list of all the records in the database that include that subject heading.

The two links near the top right of the Complete Reference screen:

• Find Similar - Clicking on this finds other records in the database that contain the same or related words in their titles.
• Find Citing Articles - Clicking on this finds other records in the database that include this paper in their list of references. Note that Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar are much better resources for cited by counts.

You might want to compare the features in Medline (Ovid) with those in PubMed as they are in fact different ways of searching essentially the same database.
